This time however, Nishijima depicts the Hisadaya restaurant (http://www.hisadaya-hida.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/hisadaya) - a kudaya which still continues to serve local miso/Hida-beef dishes to patrons - under a light blue sky. Nishijima truly leads our imagination to the happenings going on inside…
The sign adorning the Kudaya (久田屋) reads: 宿人旅 - Travelling Inn.
Located in (Hida-)Takayama, Gifu prefecture, the building continues to stand within the preserved, historic district of Sanmachi Suji. (See photo below!).
