Designated a Special Place of Scenic Beauty, Ritsurin Garden lies against the backdrop of Mt. Shuin in Takamatsu city, Kagawa prefecture. Established in 1625 by Ikoma Takatoshi, the garden has since been developed & nurtured through centuries of successive lords up until its public opening in 1875. A network of footpaths allow visitors to stroll amongst its many ponds, bridges, teahouses, & celebrated pine trees.
